Get in Touch

This is a private reference site, not a Worth County office. We cannot confirm custody or release, post bond, release anyone, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the government office responsible for the record or custody decision.

Choose the Right Record Source

Different agencies answer different questions. Use the path that matches the person’s present status or the record needed.

  • For a booking photo or arrest record, start with the Worth County recent arrests hub and its Chapter 22 request steps.
  • For someone just arrested, check Arrests Last 24 Hours, then call the sheriff if the report is stale or the person may have been transported.
  • For several days of activity, see the Police Blotter. Worth has no verified complete multi-day arrest feed.
  • For release or transfer alerts, use the roster and VINELink Custody Check.
  • For a filed charge, hearing, or disposition, use Iowa Courts Online or the Worth County clerk.
  • For state custody or supervision, use the Iowa Department of Corrections offender search. Federal prison and immigration detention require BOP and ICE locators.

Worth Sheriff and Jail

Worth County Sheriff’s Office
Worth County Jail / Sheriff’s Office

1000 Central Avenue
Northwood, IA 50459
Phone: 641-324-2481
Fax: 641-324-2611
Listed office availability: 24/7

The sheriff page lists the office as available around the clock. Call before visiting to confirm where a person is held and which custodian has the record. Worth County publishes no separate booking-records unit, booking-photo form, fixed county fee, or turnaround. Ask about the accepted request format, possible costs, and expected timing. The jail’s visitation schedule is not the same as office availability and does not prove that a person remains housed at the Northwood address.

Court and Custody Routing

The Worth County clerk of court is at 1000 Central Avenue in Northwood and can be reached at 641-324-6539 for court-file questions. The clerk does not run the sheriff’s roster. IowaVINE provides custody-change notices, while Iowa DOC covers state corrections. The BOP locator covers federal prison records, and ICE maintains its detainee locator. In an immediate emergency, call 911.

Messages about site operation can be sent through the available site contact channel. Do not send sensitive identity documents, bond money, legal filings, or urgent custody information. Such material must go directly to the responsible government office.
